Mohamed Salah equalled a record held only by Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer after netting against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Liverpool had to dig deep on Sunday afternoon as they faced a tough test against Brighton at Anfield.
Danny Welbeck smashed in the opening goal inside two minutes to stun the Liverpool crowd.
However, Roberto De Zerbi’s men failed to hold on as goals from Luis Diaz and Salah sealed a crucial 2-1 win for the Reds.
With his goal, Salah now has 25 goal contributions this season, and it is also the seventh consecutive Premier League season that the Egyptian has managed that number.
As a result, Salah joined Henry and Shearer to become the third player to manage 25+ goal contributions for seven seasons.
Salah also managed 12 shots against Brighton, which according to Opta, is his most ever in a Premier League match.
On social media, Opta wrote: “Mo Salah had 12 shots v Brighton, his most ever in a Premier League game, the most on record (from 2003-04) by a Liverpool player in a match in the competition, and the most by any player in the top-flight since Zlatan Ibrahimovic v Burnley in October 2016 (12). Persistent.”
Liverpool are now two points clear at the top of the Premier League table after Arsenal and Manchester City drew 0-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

Speaking after the match, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was asked whether Salah is getting back to his best after his injury.
He said: “Yes, playing-wise, absolutely. Imagine if Mo would have finished off all the situations in his career, that would have been crazy numbers, so it is absolutely fine. Mo as well, like others, was a bit in a rush in the finishing situations in the first half, the finishes were not like they can do it.
“But then being that calm in the decisive moment when you have to finish the biggest chance we had, it was the best football situation we played, that then makes a real goalscorer so I am absolutely happy with everything. He could play 90-something [minutes] and now we just have to keep going.”
Klopp added: “We need all the boys. Darwin [Nunez] opened up so many spaces for us, Lucho [Diaz] was incredible, so they all were really good today. How I said, the two centre-halves, outstanding. It was a really, really good football game against just an opponent where you know exactly that it will be the hardest work.”
